Day 1: Adventure at Hersheypark
Hersheypark is for kids of all ages – including the young, and the young at heart. Enjoy all the fun and excitement from the antique carousel to the water rides. There are also ten thrilling roller coasters plus lots of rides for the less adventurous. The newest ride is Candymonium, the tallest, fastest, longest, and sweetest coaster in Hersheypark. Also, be sure to catch the wonderful musical and dolphin shows!
Day 2: Savor the Chocolate
A trip to Hershey is not complete without touring Chocolate World and the Factory Works. Highlights include the 3D show, and the trolley ride around town where you will learn more about the Sweetest Place on Earth.
Day 3: Museums, Gardens & Caves, Oh My!
Option 1: To learn all you can about this sweet town and it’s founder, visit the Hershey Story Museum. One of Hershey’s most inspiring attractions, discover the story of Milton S. Hershey and the town that bears his name through interesting exhibits and interactive experiences. More than just the creator of the Hershey chocolate bar, Milton Hershey’s legacy began as a struggling entrepreneur determined to make a difference and became one of the greatest American icons. Option 2: Nature and outdoor enthusiasts will truly appreciate exploring the vibrant and aromatic Hershey Gardens in the morning and Indian Echo Caverns in the afternoon. The Gardens feature 23 acres of beautiful assorted flowers, shrubs, and rare trees – all possible because of the garden Milton Hershey created for his workers. The Caverns are simply awe-inspiring. They’re also open seven days per week, rain or shine, and it’s 52 degrees inside the cave year round! This natural, underground attraction goes back thousands of years, and was most likely visited by the area’s native Susquehannock Indians.
Still not tired? Visit ZooAmerica where you can observe a variety of furry and reptile friends, from black bears and gray wolves to alligators and snakes. We highly recommend taking the Behind the Scenes Tour. Experienced tour guides will take you through non-public spaces and get you up-close with the animals – a real treat!
Afterward, catch a ride on the antique Middletown–Hummelstown Railroad. You’ll love the sights and learn interesting facts about the area along the 11-mile round-trip train ride.
If there’s time, there are several unique miniature golf courses, and race cars at Adventure Sports. Harrisburg is another option with museums, restaurants, as well as riverboat and carriage rides.
Day 4 – Step Back in Time
Option 1: Tour Lancaster County and Amish country, rooted in culture and history. Stop by a farm stand and enjoy a buggy ride. Kids especially like the Strasburg Antique Railroad and the PA Railroad Museum. Drive by Lancaster’s famed, historic covered bridges. Then choose a beautiful Amish quilt or craft as a memento of your trip. We can even arrange for dinner with an Amish family! Just ask!
