In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Oreos, we thought you would enjoy this wonderfully easy and oh so good recipe.
Ingredients:
1 pkg. (8oz.) cream cheese (softened)
1 pkg. Oreo cookies finely crushed, (about 4 ¼ cups) – not double stuffed. They taste good but will not work in this recipe.
1 – 8 oz. package of semi sweet or dark chocolate bits
1 – 8 oz. package of white chocolate bits or squeeze bag of decorating white icing.
Crush the Oreos in a food processor or bender. Combine with cream cheese until well mixed. Place in refrigerator overnight for flavors to blend. Next day let come to room temperature and roll into I inch balls (approx. 48). Refrigerate one hour or until firm.
Melt chocolate according to package directions. I have the best luck using a double boiler but you can use the microwave.
Using a toothpick, dip firm balls into dark chocolate then place on foil or wax paper. Cool in refrigerator then drizzle with white chocolate or icing. ENJOY!
