A bit of history about Cassel Vineyards is that the land was first cultivated by the Cassel family in 1903. In 2009. Cassel Vineyards became licensed and ready to sell its lovely wines. Today, the 5th generation of Cassels (brothers Craig and Chris) are still working the land and upholding the Cassel legacy.

On the current five acres of growing area, there are six unique varieties of grapes: Chambourcin, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Vidal Blanc, Concord, and Niagara. The tasting room offers an excellent deal, $10 for 5 samples and a complimentary glass. The menu is updated frequently due to seasonal changes.

#2 Cullari Vineyards and Winery

In addition to creating traditional wines, Cullari Vineyards and Winery also prides itself on making more creative flavors with other fruit as well as grape wines. In all, they have over 35 varieties! The vineyard produces most of their wines in small batches, making them uniquely special. Their most popular wine is a chocolate wine, Coco Nostra. How fitting for the town of Hershey, right? Enjoy tastings in their outdoor seating area when the weather permits it. Otherwise, they also have an indoor seating area if preferred.

#3 Crosswinds Winery at Hershey

The husband and wife team at Crosswinds Winery are both pilots and winemakers. You’ll see airplane decor across the vineyard and placed on packaging as a nod to the owners. Wines are categorized as dry, semi-dry, and sweet. Grab some friends and attend a wine pairing dinner at the winery. They serve a 4-course meal that comes expertly paired with their wines. There is also a variety of classes you can take at the winery including jewelry-making, painting, and other crafts taught by a local artist.

#4 Grandview Vineyard

Grandview Vineyard hand-picks their grapes to ensure the highest quality. They train their vines throughout the growing season to move leaves and enable maximum sunshine in the south-facing vineyard. Grandview is certainly the place to go if you are looking for a fun event to attend. Their event calendar is full from Wednesdays to Saturdays with a different event each day. Come for yoga or trivia night! They also schedule live music nights and afternoons when you can bring your furry friends to the vineyard.

Waltz Vineyards is a 6th generation family farm that became a vineyard in 1997. They imported their modern wine-making technology directly from Italy to maintain top-notch production. The French Oak Barrels used to finish the wines are sourced directly from France. The tasting rooms here has the ambience of European vineyards with a traditional setup and decor. Waltz Vineyards pulls out all the stops to give you a one-of-a-kind wine-tasting experience.
