I recently came up with this recipe and it was a huge hit with the guests! It’s another Chef Dan Original made for the first time from my mind and heart… here’s to always cooking with love and friendship! Enjoy!
Ingredients & Tools
- Sturdy pasty cutter
- 2 sticks of butter sliced into small cubes
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 1/2 cups of milk
- 5 cups of flour
- 2 tablespoons of baking powder
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 1 can of pumpkin pie filling all mashed up
For Icing
- 2 8 oz boxes of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Meltable package of caramel dip for apples (usually found in the produce aisle, approx. 8 oz)
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 block of whipped cream cheese
- A little milk to thicken as needed
Directions
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and then whisk in sugar
- Add butter cubes and press around five minutes or so until it becomes soft crumbs
- Add milk with a silicone or wooden spoon (dough will get chunky)
- Add pie filling
- Work dough on a heavily floured surface until it becomes a ball
- Roll and cut off pieces to form triangular shapes
- Place on a nonstick baking sheet in a 425 preheated oven and bake until the tops are slightly crackly and brown
- Ice when cool and refrigerate to set
